The Digital Tunneling Hub is a central component of the "Shared Open Space for Science and Innovation" project. The goal is to establish the hub as a national and international brand. As such, it will serve as a central anchor point for researchers, students, industrial companies, and SMEs.

Representing the University of Leoben, Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.mont Robert Galler, as a "skilled tunnel builder", has been entrusted with the project management and the establishment of the hub with support from Dipl.-Ing. Marco Muymajer and Dipl.-Ing. Robert Wenighofer, all from the Chair of Subsurface Engineering. Prof. Galler is also working closely with specialists from the Faculty of Computer Science at the Vienna University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Christian Huemer and his team, as well as with those from JKU Linz, Mr. Manuel Wimmer and his team.
