The aim of the project is to establish a Digital Design & Digital Construction Laboratory as a unique teaching and research infrastructure. The construction industry is one of the largest economic sectors and one of the most influential industries in terms of energy and material consumption. However, its processes and methods are characterised by low productivity and high material and energy consumption. In order to be able to achieve the climate targets and at the same time secure Austria as a business location, intensive efforts are required to research new methods and processes in the direction of higher productivity and a lower environmental impact along the entire life cycle of buildings. The research infrastructure applied for will enable coherent research and teaching along the entire digital process chain, from digital data acquisition to digital data processing and digital production.
